On Good Friday, 29th March 2024, Pendle Pizza brought its mobile pizza pop-up to the picturesque setting of Wild Fox Distillery in Inglewhite, Lancashire. Let's dive into the whirlwind of flavours and festivities that ensued!
A Busy Start to say the least!!
As the clock struck noon, the doors of Wild Fox Distillery swung open, welcoming eager patrons ready to kickstart their Good Friday celebrations. The bar was abuzz with activity, bustling with locals and visitors alike, eager to savour the offerings of the day.
A Pizza Frenzy
Pendle Pizza aimed to serve its delectable 12" stone-baked pizzas from 2pm to 5pm, but the demand was beyond expectations. The pizzas flew out of the oven and into the hands of hungry customers, resulting in a delightful sell-out situation at 3pm! However, faced with the challenge of feeding the ever-growing crowd, a customer's quick thinking and innovation shone through: she hooked us up with a dough ball supplier! A local pizza restaurant (Guy's) generously lent a hand by providing 30 extra doughs, ensuring that no one left unsatisfied. Talk about a slice of creativity in action! Rob (Mr Wild Fox himself!) zoomed to pick up the dough!
Weathering the Storm
The weather on Good Friday was a true testament to the Lancashire climate, showcasing all four seasons in a single day. Amidst the sun, rain, wind, and even thunder and lightning, the spirit of the event remained undeterred. With unwavering determination, Pendle Pizza and its loyal customers weathered the storm together, proving that nothing can dampen the appetite for good food and great company.
Sweet Endings!!
No pop-up event is complete without a sweet finale, and Rosy Goat Ice Cream delivered just that! From their charming mobile trailer, they scooped up delightful servings of artisanal ice cream, providing the perfect tasty treat for guests of all ages. With flavours as diverse as the Lancashire landscape itself, Rosy Goat Ice Cream added a touch of sweetness to an already unforgettable day. The Easter special 'Mini Egg' flavour was a sell-out fave!
As the sun set on Pendle Pizza's Good Friday pop-up at Wild Fox Distillery, memories were made: It was a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and culinary adventures (and maybe a few 'f' words - haha!!) — a true testament to the vibrant spirit of Lancashire's local businesses and communities!!
